Meanwhile, short plate short rib at 560¢/lb has shed nearly 111¢/lb this month, and the four-week seasonal doesn't offer much recovery, so the middle meats are getting no help from this feature wave. Chuck flap at 1034¢/lb looks expensive against a seasonal that historically gives back 36¢/lb from here. Thin beef loads today keep the cutout read soft despite the grocer activity, and pork running heavy with a firming cutout will keep retailers honest about where they chase value if beef box prices don't pull back further.
