The trim lane is a different animal entirely: 92-94CL at 485¢/lb has barely moved this week and history adds another 10¢/lb from here with a floor that hasn't broken 2¢/lb in four years of data. Fresh 50CL at 187¢/lb is the one that needs watching structurally, because the cow kill is tight, cold storage was already deeply drawn before this week, and the seasonal forward carries it nearly 30¢/lb higher. The June kill cut everyone expects from packers bleeding at minus-347 a head arrives into that lean-tight backdrop.
