Pork meanwhile is firming on genuinely heavy loads, a broad-based bid rather than a thin-volume print, and that cross-protein divergence tightens the substitution math on lean trim specifically. The China beef permit story cycling through the headlines is the next weight-bearing number: if export flow to China reopens meaningfully, rounds and lean manufacturing beef stop loosening into domestic supply, and the grind complex loses one of its few pressure release valves.
